Description

This is an adventure tour into the true wilderness.

A fabulous, lonely nature and few, still traditionally living Himba tribes await us. A mountainous area punctuated with wide valleys and dry riverbeds, but where wild game roams. The Epupa Waterfalls on the Kunene Border River are a little piece of paradise.

  • Day 3

Today is about to be exciting and challenging. Through a small dry river we reach the impressive Khowarib Gorge. But we can wash it off again in the water that suddenly springs from the dry river Accommodation: camping breakfast and dinner

  • Day 4

Today we drive through some Himba and Herero settlements. You can also engage in a short chat. The city of Opuwo is our destination. Accommodation: Camping (Lodge accommodation also available.) Breakfast. Dinner at cost at the lodge

A short distance back towards Opuwo, then we turn off to the notorious van Zyl's Pass. On the way stony passages through mopane tree landscape. The view from the pass into the desert landscape is unforgettable. Accommodation: Camping. Breakfast. Dinner

  • Day 7

Through the plain of the dry Marienfluss we come again to the Kunene border river. The Marienfluss offers an impressive solid sandy stage in contrast to yesterday's rocky mountain stage. Unfortunately, bathing in the river is not popular here because of the crocodiles. In the afternoon we leave the Kunene River and spend the night somewhere in the wild Kaokoland. Accommodation: Camping. Breakfast. Dinner

  • Day 8

Another day full of surprises. The landscape seems to change every 20 km. After the small town of Orupembe, a demanding stage through two dry rivers to Purros. If we are lucky we can spot Namibia's desert elephants. Accommodation: Camping. Breakfast. Dinner
